2025 Code Review

A Year of Upgrades, Long‑Lived Systems and more

2025 code development was about:

Bring on the Bots

Sorry folks I didn't switch to a full AI-assisted IDE like Cursor. However, my workflow has become dependant on the likes of the major AI providers. Auto-complete on steroids and more precise drilling through the docs. Still hitting the escape key, can't let these robots do all the thinking

Git'ing Public

For now most of my Github repo’s are private. The plan though as my development portfolio expands these will be made public. I have some house cleaning to do.

Getting Personal

The year ended with turning attention to my own website. It'll be 20 years from the time de.signby.tk came on the scene. So it deserves a little attention.

Subcontracting

I have a great subcontracting gig with Indigo Boost. Day to day SEO maintenance, technical optimization and content exploration. This is where I develop the most in WordPress. Keying in on maintenance, but this year worked on a version 2 website and finalizing a version 1 for another. The company buy-in is to the Oxygen Builder and ACF. Going to get my hands dirty with Oxygen Builder 6.0 in the coming year.
